West Texas Biathlon 2008

It was the annual biathlon out in the raw country near Pecos, Texas. Who says there's nothing to do in West Texas?

It took place on August 15 and 16, 2008. The shooters had to run or walk the six mile course, and at four stages along the way they had to ring the gong, i.e., shoot at and hit metal targets 200 and 300 yards away. The time counted for half and accuracy counted for the other half for scoring purposes. The event this year drew 32 shooters.
