Not sitting is the new health craze. Sitting, we are told, increases the chance of developing metabolic syndrome*.
Done? Now get up. Walk around. Go get a soda. Smoke a cigarette. Get some M&Ms and eat them one at a time. Nuke and eat one of the donuts left over from this morning. Go harass that ambitious worker in the next office. But whatever you do, quit sitting.
There. Now you'll live a nice long life.
*Metabolic syndrome is so new they haven't really nailed it down, but it's supposed to be a collection of risk factors which includes a big belly, high blood pressure, high blood sugar, high triglycerides and low HDL which can lead to illness and death. Source: webmd.com.
