President Obama's zeal for more immigrants with voting rights can probably be attributed to a belief that they'll help Democrats get elected. But does the average Democrat go along with that? Some of the polls suggest that they don't.

We can all sympathize with the plight of a South American family wanting to escape poverty. However, the U.S. can absorb only so many workers, especially when there is certainly no shortage of unskilled workers here already. That aside, what kind of economic system do the immigrants want?
The preference for a socialist economy seems to be strong among Democrats. However, their vision of that probably resembles some European country. If we look at current immigrants -- the people who will eventually be deciding our elections -- a more accurate vision might look more like Venezuela.
