Reading this article at cnsnews.com one is reminded of that hilarious line delivered by George C. Scott in "Dr. Strangelove" as the world heads toward nuclear annihilation, "We shouldn't condemn the whole program just because it didn't work this one time." [Paraphrased.]
Asked whether [State Department spokeswoman Elizabeth Trudeau] was satisfied that Malik’s application process would have followed the proper protocols she replied in the affirmative.
“How can you say that with such assurance?” a reporter asked.
“Because we stand behind our screening process for visas. What I will say is that the State Department remains committed to the security of the homeland. We – our process we continue to revise. We continue to look at this. But these are process that happens around the world every day in our U.S. embassies,” Trudeau said.
This morning on Fox News they said the State Department failed to ask Malik questions about whether she was a jihadist. Dang. If only they had asked. Malik surely would have answered in the affirmative, and they could have blocked her entry. Failing that, if only that county building in San Bernardino had a bigger "No Guns" sign.
