-------------------------------------------------------
Tonight, the reality show series "The Next Joe Millionaire, an International Affair" ended with a fabulous finale. It was a bit long at two hours, but the last 45 minutes were very entertaining.
Earlier in the show former Midlander David Smith, the new "Joe", had to choose between Cat and Linda. "I didn't choose you Cat," he said, ending that relationship. It went rather smoothly, no crying, no tears.
Then he had to confront his chosen Linda with the truth:
"I haven't been completely honest. I don't have 80 million dollars."
That's when the fun begins. She didn't say anything, but her body language spoke volumes - she didn't like that one bit. The plan was for her to think about it, and if she wanted to continue with the relationship (and the show) then she would meet David that night, and David would give her a "promise ring". In a dramatic sequence that Fox played to the hilt, she didn't show up, and poor David got stood up. And we, the viewers, got to sit in our easy chairs and silently assign all kinds of evil mercenary attributes to that Euro trash Linda. But, it's not over yet.
Next we see David at the Austin airport apparently just arriving back in Texas from the trip to Europe. And they pick him up in a Mercedes and take him to some beautiful patch of central Texas with very gentle rolling hills covered with green grass and live oak trees. A fabulous place.
At this ranch David was reunited with his horse, North, along with his dog and Paul the butler. Paul read a heartfelt letter from Linda explaining that it wasn't the lack of money that made her bail, it was the lie. Yeah right. What else could she say and still save face?
But, out of the ranch house door walks Linda in the flesh! All was forgiven. What a beautiful scene! Then the prizes. Paul hands over a check to Linda in the sum of $250,000. Paul reminds David that he was never going to receive any money for his participation on the show, but he has another surprise in mind. That 90 acre piece of Texas paradise and the house on it are now David's private property. What a fabulous prize!
Now, I don't know whether Linda and David will stay together, and if so, for how long. After all, this wasn't a match made in heaven, it was a match made for television. But, everyone went away with a prize, no one got hurt, and the purpose was to entertain the audience, and it certainly did that. All's well that ends well. Good bye Joe, we gotta go. Have a great life, it was nice knowing you!

My question is, is there going to be a follow up on David and Linda like on the other Joe Millionare? I know, and maybe others, would like to know how things are going. I know that there was a follow up on the first one. Waiting for your reply. Tina

I certainly hope there will be some sort of follow up to David's and Linda's story. I haven't heard of anything yet, but surely Fox will have something.

I would like to say that the show was great but the end was staged! I mean seriously, do you guys really think that he didn't know the butthead, sorry butler, was going to come out with Czech girl! You know she dropped him like a bad habit and that's why you can not find any information on them anywhere! I know it will be hard for most of you to digest this, but the girl only want back to America to get the passport! I mean seriously, America or Eastern Europe! Meanwhile, she was lucky to get the $ 250,000 and she said, "Ah screw it, I have the money now and I am not going to put up with that American pimple!" Meanwhile, until she saw Linda getting the money, I bet Cat laughed her ass off that Linda got stuck with no personality or brain: Joe Million Air!!!
