The Odessa American said that Zucchi's was a popular hangout with the "Friday Night Lights" movie cast and crew. And, in most cases when a restaurant gets celebrity visits the proprietor mugs it up with the celebs, and the pictures get hung all over the walls.
I had lunch at Zucchi's Ristorante today to see what "Friday Night Lights" memorabilia might be on display. And, there was nothing. Maybe they're playing it safe and quietly waiting for the movie release to make sure they still want to be associated with it. But, as of today there is nothing on display. Oh well, I'll check back another time.
Hold on! Wait just a minute! Right there next to the door, you can see it just to the right of the exit. There's an autographed picture of Ernest Borgnine! Huh? Ernest Borgnine? Well, at least we know that they aren't completely immune to celebrity fever.
What does Ernest Borgnine have to do with Friday Night Lights? I don't know, but if you want to play the "six degrees of Keven Bacon" game, you can use Star Links to find a movie link between Mr. Borgnine and any of the cast member of FNL. (Hint: you can save some time by starting with Julius Tennon, who plays Coach James in FNL, to find the closest link.)
Oh yeah, the Chicken Carbonara with broccoli was quite good.
