Growing up in Odessa we saw them all summer, then once in a while. When I graduated from High School they were very hard to find.

Tough little critters, and lovable in their own way.

They are much cuter than the ordinary lizards. But they are much slower, too. And that's probably why there are fewer of them around now than there were way back when.
