There are sure to be plenty of used cars available from New Orleans. Here's a tip for anyone in the market for a used car anytime soon: Inspect it for tell tale signs of flood damage.
The State of Texas Department of Transportation has a website that allows a consumer to check if a vehicle titled in Texas was titled as a Flood Damaged Vehicle. And at that same TxDOT site there's a link to a Florida site that purports to allow checking for flood damaged vehicles that have been issued Florida Certificates of Title.
Maybe the state of Louisiana will do the same. Ya think?
Just to be on the safe side, here is Progressive Casualty Insurance Company's flood inspections guidelines. And more tips can be found at this Ezine Article.
Finally, Carfax reports purport to alert consumers of whether a car was flood damaged.
Caveat emptor.
And....I hear that you can get a great deal on a low mileage school bus fleet!
