Stop teasing us, Sprint! Oh, if only delivery people did run the world, or more specifically, the U.S. Government.
That Sprint commercial is currently one of my favorite commercials. It starts out with that line: "What if delivery people ran the world?" Watch it on Youtube and see how efficiently the delivery people handle what appears to be the beginning of a typical day at a government school. They round up a truant and route him straight to detention.
So as I sit here watching my capital gains turn into capital losses and my life savings turn to dust on account of the fear created by our President's schemes for spending, borrowing and taxing our economy into oblivion, I dream of a fantasy world in which smart, practical, efficient people run the government. Sure, make them delivery people, they could do it.
Such a sweet vision. Hey, I can dream, can't I?
George, that IS a good ad ... so is another, earlier one in that same series ... what if firefighters ran the government, featuring a meeting of a state legislature that gets down to - and finishes! - business in less time that it takes our own Lege in Austin to get out a couple of silly sounbites.

Oh yeah. Right you are, Jeff. I had forgotten all about that one.
