George, I read/watched msnbc.com's story on this a couple of days ago, and shook my head in admiring disbelief ... I can still see her at the desk of hers, surrounded by the protective steel bars.

She has an interesting approach, addressing the other matters of public safety and general order we expect of our constabulary. I'm reminded of how police tried to maintain some semblance of law and order here, in America, in the days when gangsters like Al Capone held do much sway over parts (or all!) of the city.

I wish her the best of luck. But I'm also saying a prayer for her - and for all law enforcement personnel - but especially for her, at the moment.

A good girl in the bad lands -- best of luck for sure, Jeff.

Hopefully the killers in the region can be brought to justice without any more bloodshed. It's too much of a burden to place on her, but maybe there's a modern day Elliot Ness down there building a case.
