This BBC video shows three Africans tracking some lions. But they aren't out to kill the lions, they're out to steal the lions' prey. Once the men find the lions feasting on a wildebeest they sit still for a moment and watch. Then they begin walking toward the lions. Watch the Youtube video here to see what happens next. Very courageous. But the lions probably know instinctively which species could render the other one extinct.
Early man probably did more scavenging than hunting. But an observer has to wonder why these guys set out to steal from lions rather than hunting and killing their own meal. Could the presence of the BBC film crew have influenced them?
