So I'm scrolling down Amazon's best selling books, and there at number 10 is a book of poems by Shel Silverstein who has been dead for 12 years. How does he do that?
It's titled Everything On It and copyrighted by something called Evil Eye LLC which probably should raise suspicions about it's source. But according to NPR many of the poems just didn't make the cut in some of his previous books. Sample from the NPR site:
"There are kids underneath my bed,"
Cried little baby monster Fred.
Momma monster smiled. "Oh, Fred,
There's no such things as kids," she said.
You know, Shel, kids and monsters are synonymous.
Then there's this one from Amazon's page peek:
YEARS FROM NOW
Although I cannot see your face
As you flip these poems awhile
Somewhere from some far-off place
I hear you laughing -- and I smile.
Shel's smiling now.
