Once not too many years ago some reporter who had access to the highest office in North Korea told CNN's Wolf Blitzer on air how CNN was Kim Jong Il's favorite TV network. Blitzer simply glowed, and he replied that they were very proud of that fact.
That comes to mind now that Kim is dead. Another thing that comes to mind is that infamous statement by CNN's Eason Jordan soon after Saddam Hussein was unseated that CNN rat holed negative news about Saddam so that they could keep their Baghdad office open. Access was more important than honest reporting.
So what will we learn about CNN now that Kim Jong Il is gone? Anything? Most likely they will simply resume business as usual with the son, just as they would have with Uday Hussein had he taken over the family business.
But not everyone felt the need to suck up. Go for it, Team America.
