This sounds like something from Dana Carvey's old church lady routine.
An 81 year old Swedish dog lover cherished Milo, the loyal family dog that kept him company during his final months on earth. And one of the gentleman's last wishes was for Milo to attend the funeral.
Nope. No dogs allowed. This comes from The Local which goes on to explain that the priest simply would not bend the rules:
“This is primarily because we have people with allergies. If we allow dogs in the church then we’ll be forced to clean up afterwards. That’s a big project for a church from the 1100’s,” ...
Aw, the clean up. If they are stuck in the 1100s maybe they don't allow plastic bags, either.
Via Arbroath.
I rcekon you are quite dead on with that.
