Most don't. And we shouldn't. But there's an industry built up around racial disparity.
One of the regular complaints against racial grievance industry is that they claim that there needs to be more discussion about race, however when any opinion is proffered that doesn't fit the politically correct narrative, the speaker is branded a "racist."
The George Zimmerman case has been very instructive in this regard. More and more exonerating evidence becomes public, yet news reports tell us the FBI is investigating him for a "hate crime" which could result in a death penalty. Some people are really out to get him.
Contrast that case with points made in Thomas Sowell's recent article titled: A Censored Race War? which notes that many incidents of unprovoked attacks by black gang members on white victims go unreported by media. And in some cases, the police don't even want to take a report.
Today the Wall Street Journal tell us that white babies born in 2011 in the US were in the minority. The breakdown, as they report, was as follows:
Non-Hispanic White 49.6%
Hispanic 26.2%
African-American 15.3%
Asian 4.6%
American Indian and Alaska Native 1.7%
One wonders if those Non-Hispanic Whites born in 2011 will someday have their own minority grievance industry.
