During the coming months we are sure to hear from the Obama campaign about all the good things that President Obama has purportedly done for the country. But one thing he's done that they won't boast about is the awakening of the electorate as to just how destructive the left can be. Europeans and South Americans have been living with it so long they don't know any better. But watching Europe from across the ocean and South America from across the border wasn't enough for the lesson to sink in here.
Along came Barack Obama with his attitude that government take-overs of private businesses were good things along with the attitude that the government a necessary partner to any economic plan. I've always said that the best time to elect a Democratic president is when the country has no where to go but down. So Barack Obama came along when the country was already down, and his presidency has been a disaster.
Republicans have their problems, all right. But at this stage of our country's existence, the Republicans just might be part of the solution, and not part of the problem.
Victor Davis Hanson makes a speculation:
Look at it this way: for four years Obama has poked and jabbed at the corralled stallion, and when the gate goes up he will roar out as never before. Or if you are a Greek, try this: for 30 years we have been lectured to death about global warming, the brilliant Ivy League technocrats, the genius of Keynesian borrowing, the need for multiculturalism in the White House, if only we had open borders, why lawyers and academics need to be in charge—all on the “what if” presumption that no one in his right mind would let any of the above become gospel. And so we had the constant liberal whine, “if only.…” Now we have it in the flesh, and in cathartic fashion Obama is going to purge us of that unhinged temptation for another generation.
There's the hope and change we've been waiting for.
Great post, by the way I am an engineer & I want to join a community where I can get spiritual as well as I can help others. I heard about global community communications alliance in AZ. As far as I got know it is the nonprofit organization. They have many outreach programs and services for community. I think I should join then. What do you guys say? Pls let me know.

"Europeans and South Americans have been living with it so long they don't know any better."
What a bunch of patronising and generalizing bullshit. I had a modicum of respect for this blog but it's quickly going down the toilet. This idea of "the left is all bad" and "the right is all bad" doesn't do a lick of good.
