Last night was National Night Out here in Midland, Texas, and thanks to the organizers in the MPD Community Relations Department, the kickoff event came off without a hitch. The MPD brass were there along with lots of dignitaries, including the two individuals currently in town for a CALEA accreditation review of the police department.
It's a simple concept. Get people out of their houses to meet their neighbors. If they know who belongs in their neighborhood, they know who doesn't belong.
