North Korean dictator Kim Jong Un is threatening to cause harm, and that's bullying, according to stopbullying.gov.
In response, the U.S. last week delayed a ballistic missile test in an attempt to placate NorKor and show that its willing to change its behavior to make the problem go away.
More recently, John Kerry said:
... the threats were "simply unacceptable" by any standard. "We are all united in the fact that North Korea will not be accepted as a nuclear power," he said.
"Unacceptable?" What exactly would the U.S. do that it hasn't already tried? My suggestion -- tell an adult.
There was a Will Ferrell skit on SNL in which his character was trying to impress a women in a bar after a cuter guy tried to hit on her. He told the woman how he had put the other guy in his place when they were kids. How did you do that, she asked. He said the kid threatened to beat Ferrell up, so he went home and told his mom, and she told the other kid's mom who scolded the kid. Problem solved. That technique seems well suited to the Obama administration whose website stopbullying.gov never once suggests standing up to the bully, the tactic that was taught for generations before this one.
So John Kerry and Barack Obama, for crying out loud, tell an adult!
