He's Rep. Tim Huelskamp, R-Kansas, who was elected in 2010, represents the district which happens to be the second largest recipient of farm subsidies in the country. And he voted "no" on the farm bill in the House on June 20.
From DailyCaller.com:
“I know one farmer stood up and said, ‘Hey, you’ve got to defend our subsidies.’ … Well, I understand, but I also have to defend the future for the entire country,” Huelskamp told TheDC News Foundation.
“Most folks recognize in my district that the food stamps and the farm programs need to do a better job with less money in those programs,” Huelskamp added.
Not only does his district rank #2 on the list of farm subsidy recipients, Mr. Huelskamp's top industry contributor was Crop Production & Basic Processing.
It takes courage to stand up to special interests and put America first. And the man has the right stuff. Three cheers for this American hero!
