Here's the story: Two thousand mice dropped on Guam by parachute — to kill snakes.
The short version is that Guam is overrun with brown tree snakes which not only eat birds but get into electric substations causing expensive power failures. The idea was to parachute 2,000 mice pumped up with acetaminophen over Andersen Air Force Base. Their little parachutes would get hung up in the trees, the snakes would eat the mice, and the acetaminophen would kill the snakes. Ingenious.
Yeah, yeah, I hear your complaints. The analogy is all wrong. Our lawmakers are more like ticks and tape worms than snakes. I'm trying. I'm trying.
