I haven't shown a lot of sympathy for the cats that have been eating the fox's food. Originally, I thought they were pampered pets out looking for another free meal. But maybe not. There have been a lot of abandoned dogs found in town, because, the theory goes, newcomers move into apartments that don't allow pets, so they set the dogs loose in the city. Same thing can happen to cats.
Anyway, I'm starting to feel a little bit more sympathy for the furry felines.
It's tough out there for a cat. You can see a wound on Black Cat's left flank. These pics were taken on separate days, and the wound is there both days. How did that happen? Get in a fight? Got some kind of hair pulling neurosis? He ain't talking.
Note the temperature stamp on the one with Calico. When a feline is out foraging for food in 13 degree weather that isn't some pampered house cat. By the way, the food was frozen when I put it out. Imagine how hungry a cat would have to be to eat a frozen chicken drumstick in 13 degree climate.
Finally, a fox. He seems to be saying, "Don't be so stingy. You need to put out more food if you expect all us critters to survive."
