Naked Security tells us that Facebook conducted a poll asking their own users how trustworthy they think Facebook is. The results weren't publicized, and that could lead a suspicious person to think the results weren't very favorable to Facebook.
So Naked Security conducted their own poll. Those taking that poll were probably Naked Security readers, so the results to that one might be skewed toward the distrust side. But nevertheless, the results were interesting. Here's what they got:
How trustworthy is Facebook overall?
Not at all trustworthy 72.96% (2,530 votes)
Slightly trustworthy 20.01% (694 votes)
Somewhat trustworthy 5.62% (195 votes)
Very trustworthy 0.89% (31 votes)
Extremely trustworthy 0.52% (18 votes)
Total Votes: 3,468
Almost 3/4ths think Facebook is untrustworthy. That pretty bad. That's worse than Obama's 53% untrustworthy rating. But then Obama has a lot of media folks covering for him. Just think. If Facebook had that we'd all love it.
