This is a Thanksgiving story from today's America.
An article in yesterday's Dailycaller.com about Natalie Dubose touched a lot of caring people. Ms. Dubose is the owner of Natalie’s Cake’s & More in Ferguson, Missouri. That city, of course, is the city targeted by race instigators after a white police officer shot and killed a black man named Michael Brown in what a grand jury determined was a justifiable homicide.
Ms. Dubose was an innocent victim of rampaging rioters who damaged her store. This being the age of the internet, some good Samaritans learned of her plight and started a page for her at a fund raising site. Yesterday's Dailycaller article said $90,000 had been raised. As of a few minutes ago that number was $212,789 from 6,670 people. Says she:
My shop, which had it's grand opening this summer was vandalized in the riots.
My main windows were smashed and bakery damaged. I'm beside myself, but with the holidays, can't stop working.
I'm very busy cleaning and trying to repair my business. I'm also trying to catchup on baking cakes for Thanksgiving!
What a woman. What a country!
Happy Thanksgiving, everyone!
