As president, Barack Obama has been a huge disappointment. That's not so surprising since he glided into the office as a mythological character with no substance backing that myth.
One of those disappointments is they way he has stirred up racial issues among his base. Very unpresidential, but par for the course.
Now we learn that he met with Al Sharpton and other protesters on November 5 when he told them to stay on course. This was a day after the election, so Obama had to continue the fiction that the whole thing wasn't simply to get out black voters.
Most rational observers have concluded that the Ferguson police officer was justified in using deadly force against Michael Brown. But facts aren't a powerful persuader against pumped up outrage fed regularly by the likes of Sharpton.
Jonathan Gruber's observations that people are stupid somehow seems applicable here.
Meanwhile, St. Louis braces for riots.
