From thehill.com:
The White House estimates that aspect of the program, which would cost $75 million, would help fund the purchase of 50,000 body-worn cameras.
This is a real move forward for the president since just the other day he was encouraging protesters in Ferguson to "stay the course." He hasn't backed down from that in spite of the fact that the most credible of the witnesses to the Ferguson shooting provided support for theory that the shooting was justified. But at least Obama is saying that the next time it might be harder to deny the truth if it's right there on video.
Meanwhile, Darren Wilson was unceremoniously asked to leave the Ferguson police department without any severance or benefits. That sent a loud message to the other members of that police force, to wit: If you get anywhere near a situation in which there's even the slightest possibility of being accused of racism then run far away fast. If certain areas of town become no-fly zones, then so be it.
