The weather outside was frightful. We've had cold nights and cold days with frozen water falling from the sky -- not ideal conditions for the urban foxes.
I've noted previously that Old Crooked Tail seems to turn up her nose at food that's frozen. But eventually she decided to take it. This set came from New Year's Eve morning. First at 3:09am, then at 6:11am. The drumstick is circled in yellow in the first one.
She ultimately took it. Notice the temperature: 15F at around 3am and 13F three hours later. Brr. A frozen drumstick couldn't have been all that tasty with no warm place to go eat, but it was better than nothing.
It wasn't a fit night out for man nor beast. On the bright side, these cold nights have kept the cats away -- cuddling by a warm fire place, no doubt. Not so with the foxes. They've got to fend for themselves regardless of the weather.
That's it for this Fox Friday. Stay warm. See ya next time.
