Welcome to Fox Friday, a display of the best of the urban fox photos from the previous seven days at the Bone Yard, a fox feeding station located in the heart of Midland, Texas.
If you've been here before you know that neighborhood cats usually get there first. There's one pesky feline wearing a collar, so we know she's getting fed elsewhere. Well, she's a real pest. She just sits in the feeding station showing no fear whatsoever waiting for the food. The foxes are so polite they leave when they see the cats. So far the cats have outsmarted every way I've come up with to see that the foxes get fed and the cats don't. Anyway, I could go on all day about this. You're here to see the foxes, so let's get started.
The photo you see below is two photos, cropped and put into a panorama with a one pixel divider. The two photos were taken a few minutes apart.
It looks like a mirror image. But it's two photos of the same fox sniffing the same spot from a different direction. So we get a side-by-side view of her right and left profile.
Two foxes arrived early Thursday morning. I don't know whether there was any food left, but they gave us a couple of good pictures.
Two foxes -- In the photo on the left all we can see of the shy one are the eyes. The gamma was adjust in the photo on the right so we can see the shy one. I wish they would act like a pack and run off the cats, but perhaps trying to scavenge for scraps in an urban environment has made they too timid to make waves.
That's it for this Fox Friday. See ya next time.
