Welcome to Fox Friday, a collection of the best photos from the previous seven days taken at the Bone Yard, an urban fox feeding station in the heart of Midland, Texas. Let's get started.
The foxes look so much alike it was almost tempting to think there was only one fox, that is until two get captured in one frame.
The three pictures are in sequence all within about two seconds. Can you see the second fox?
The cats usually get there first. But just so you know, occasionally a fox gets to eat.
Here's one where a fox chows down on a chicken leg.
There's not much interaction between the cats and foxes anymore. Whoever reaches the food first usually gets it. Unfortunately, the cats just sit there waiting for the food, so a cat usually gets to eat first. The foxes do a drive-by, and if there's no food out yet they move on to the next source, wherever that is.
Here we see a cat waiting for the food as a fox cruises by. Then we see a cat eating on a different night while a fox cruises by.
Finally, these two photos from different nights are cropped and spliced into a panorama. The foxes all look so much alike it almost looks like a mirror reflection. But there is a subtle difference. Can you spot it? The one on the left has dark hair on the side of her nose. The one on the right doesn't have those markings. If you spotted it, congratulations. Those furry little guys are hard to distinguish.
That's it for this Fox Friday. See ya next time.
