A few years ago a friend alerted me to the oddities appearing in the morning paper lost and found section of the classified ads. That particular time it was a lost Glock handgun. It was never found, as I recall. Another time it was bees. Yeah, the buzzing kind. Someone found a bunch of bees and placed an ad requesting the owner to come claim them.
Now we have drones. As some are fond of saying, "This is the 21st century, after all." The big headlines are all about the drone found on the lawn on the White House. Since drones are President Obama's favorite weapon of mass destruction, it's understandable that he would be a bit squeamish about that.
Here at home we had a classified ad in the morning paper last week for a found drone. See on the right.
If drones are radio controlled they would have a fixed range. And once out of range they would just keep going until they ran out of fuel. If there's a cell phone app for them there's always the tower range and signal limitation. It seems easy enough to lose one.
Anyway, here's hoping the drone in the ad is reunited with its owner.
