Welcome to Fox Friday, the weekly display of the best of the urban fox photos from the previous seven days at the Bone Yard, an urban fox feeding station in an undisclosed location in the heart of Midland, Texas.
Regular visitors to Fox Friday have read my rants about the domestic and feral cats that have taken over the Bone Yard. The nightly bait has consisted of two raw chicken drumsticks, sometimes frozen, sometimes thawed. However, this past week, in an attempt to discourage the cats, the only food put out was dry dog food. I don't think it tastes very good in comparison. My own dog would rather eat a paper napkin with a slight hint of human food on it than dry dog food. So let's see some photos.
Early Monday morning:
What's this? Dry dog food? Yuck!
Early Wednesday a dejected fox saunters off, wondering why there's no real food.
Finishing the week -- from early this morning:
Yellow Cat in snow storm, searching for food.
If nothing else, this week's cuisine helped identify the critters that have another food source from the one that is dependent of the food at the Bone Yard. It's Yellow Cat. She's a young one that showed up a few weeks ago and made herself at home. I wish I could wean her off this food and direct her elsewhere, but excluding cats from the Bone Yard so far has proven futile.
That's it for this Fox Friday. See ya next time.
