The objective is to lure the foxes with food and get their photos. However, feral cats compete with them -- whichever species gets there first gets supper. Most of the time it's a cat, especially since one in particular seems to have made the feeding station her home. She eats first and the foxes are left with leftovers.
The photos I prize most are ones in which a fox takes a majestic pose, but those are rare. Second place goes to the photos showing a fox confronting a cat. Since they've gotten used to each other and have established their pecking order, that doesn't happen often. Third place is a fox grabbing some food.
These photos came from Monday night around 11:30pm. We see a fox approaching. Then she grabs the remnants of a chicken drumstick.
Notice the tail makes a question mark.
Five minutes later the fox and cat give each other the eye. (Cropped.)
That's it for this Fox Friday. See ya next time.
