Law enforcement is under a lot of pressure these days not to do anything that appears repressive.
But Immigration and Customs Enforcement is taking it a bit too far. Here's an excerpt from 121 murders attributed to illegals released by Obama administration:
It said 33 of those were ordered by immigration courts and another 24 were released because of a 2001 Supreme Court decision capping the time an immigrant can be detained to six months. But a majority of the releases were discretionary, meaning ICE had the option of keeping them detained.
I feel a little sympathy for ICE. The workers probably don't want to do a bad job, and there's probably no up-side to releasing all those illegal immigrants. But they're under heavy pressure from President Obama to put them on the streets. So they end up going along to stay in good standing with the bigs.
