Whenever someone flies the Mexican flag in the U.S. I always wonder what it is about the Mexican government that is so good that they want to bring it to the United States. It's difficult to think of an example. I would make an exception for fiestas and siestas, but the government can't lay claim to those.
Nationalism is a a strong force. And people take pride in their countries of origin even if their government leaves a lot to be desired.
So when we hear that the narcotics kingpin, Joaquin “El Chapo” Guzman, through his son, has jumped on the anti-Trump band wagon, then maybe Senor Guzman is expressing his pride in his country.
He should. He's gotten away with murder, mayhem, and elaborate escape under that regime. Maybe pride isn't the right word for it, but he certainly owes his country something.
