Political writers are sifting through every utterance by Republican contenders for something to make into a controversy, and one of the latest treasures they've uncovered is Ben Carson's remark that he wouldn't want a Muslim running this country. That's a common sense observation that is probably shared, but unspoken, across the nation.
But saying it out loud is politically incorrect. Right on cue, CAIR is calling for Carson to drop out of the race.
As for those pundits who criticize Carson for this, get out there and make the case that Carson is wrong. Be sure to include in your evidence an explanation for the silence of those you would refer to as "moderate Muslims" regarding atrocities committed in the name of Islam and the hostility directed at those who do have the courage to speak out.
