"I believe that it's only a matter of time before these attacks progress to our critical infrastructure like the electric grid, dams, air traffic control, and other key systems," she said. "When that happens, we won't be talking about stolen money, or destroyed systems, we'll be talking about thousands of lives that have been endangered," she said.
However, it seems more likely that she's rationalizing to shore up support for her controversial cyber bill. The bill is supposed to enhance the sharing of information between the government and private industry. And that has some people scared.
Nevertheless, the electric grid needs protecting, and if that really is a concern of Ms. Feinstein then she should focus on ways to harden and secure the system.
