It was a snow day in Midland, Texas, today, with most businesses closing. It didn't actually snow today, though. It all came down yesterday, 12/27/15. And it was beautiful!
This morning as I tried to walk in the yard my feet sank into the snow a couple of inches above my ankles. It looked like one of those reality shows from Alaska. Down here in the west Texas desert we don't see blizzards like these too often. (Don't get ahead of me here -- I'm not blaming global warming or its young progeny, "climate change," this was just an extraordinarily wet cold front that produced a plentiful quantity of snow.)
And it was close enough to Christmas that we may even be able to say it was a white Christmas.
Meanwhile, someone has a storm story to tell.
The real losers were the school kids. They're still out of school for the holidays, so a get-out-of-school-free card was spent uselessly.
