There's a primary election coming up in Texas on March 1. While all eyes are on the presidential races, there's a national office on the ballot in West Texas. It's for U.S. Representative for Texas District 11, an office currently held by Mike Conaway.
You wouldn't know it, but he's up for reelection. There's no Republican running against him in the primary. And there's no Democrat running for the office in their primary.
Nevertheless, he's raised over a million dollars for his campaign. More precisely, as of February 10, 2016, it's $1,157,219 for his campaign committee and PAC combined.
Wow, those donors really must dumb -- there's no opponent! Aw, who am I kidding? They know exactly what they're doing. They aren't donors, they're investors.
