Megyn Kelly has been a big hit for Fox News. After her role as inquisitor in that first Republican primary debate Donald Trump put a target on her back. Shortly after that I predicted that if Trump got elected president then Kelly could write her own ticket at any of the other cable news channels.
That didn't take long. Daily Mail is reporting that she's demanding Bill O'Reilly level money in negotiations with Fox and threatening to quit. Well, OK. But if someone has to leave Fox, why couldn't it be Geraldo Rivera?
Sure, Fox needs some liberals around to balance out the broadcasts. Good, likable, liberals who will work for Fox must be hard to find. There's only one Juan Williams. And people like Kirsten Powell don't come along very often. The attacks they get from other liberals must be torturous, yet they endure.
But Geraldo? Just the way he injected himself in the news about the Paris terrorist attack was enough to get most viewers to switch channels. (Seems his daughter happened to be in Paris at the time, so he had to go see her there, camera crew in tow. What a scene hog.)
All the best to you Megyn. Go for the big bucks while you're in demand. Your fans will probably follow.
