Personally, I've never had a problem with unisex bathrooms. And I suspect that's the attitude of many who ever shared a bathroom with siblings. So if that's what we can expect in the future, then let's get on with it. All it would take would be signage changes. Cheap and easy.
Currently, the big battle is over a Democrat party special interest group -- LGBTs and their supporters' desire for them to use any public restroom they think fits their identity, provided it wasn't built just for them in a Virginia school. Conservatives probably feel much like the smokers standing in the cold outside a building wishing they had spoken up long ago instead of simply moving along whenever someone complained about them. But it would have ultimately been a losing battle anyway.
This bathroom thing is looking like another battle about to be won by the left. And for the right it's not worth fighting. The right is outnumbered and out gunned and needs to pick its battles, not merely jump into a fight at every opportunity.
