At almost 40 years old, the A-10 must look long in the tooth to the people Obama has picked to run our military. But the ugly Warthog has proven itself over and over. It could take a licking and keep on ticking, to borrow a phrase.
Now they're going to put it up in tests against the F-35. One is fast, sleek and expensive. The other is a warthog. Their skills are different, and that will be the factor determining the winner. So the designer of the test will essentially predetermine the outcome in A-10 vs. F-35: Air Force warplanes to face off.
Meanwhile, in this rumble in the airways, old, bold and ugly will likely be the crowd favorite.
Editor's note: Why not put it up against a Russian SU-27 next time one gets a little too close? Robo-ed. | Which one? Either one of ours might lose! Sleepless.
