In this Heritage Foundation panel discussion on Benghazi an accented law student fully clothed in Muslim garb asks a question to Ms. Gabriel. She says there are 1.8 billion Muslims world wide and 8 million plus in the U.S. and asks how can they expect to fight an ideological war with weapons. Clearly she thinks she and her ilk are being blamed for the violence of a few.
Some highlights from Ms. Gabriel's answer: If 15 to 25% of Muslims are radical that comes to 180 million to 300 million people who are dedicated to the destruction of Western civilization. If 75% percent of Muslims are peaceful that doesn't help much when we remember that most of the people existing under the Nazi regime may not have approved of the killings. The peaceful majority were irrelevant. Same thing with Russia and China when their governments were killing millions.
Brigitte Gabriel's answer is worth the 4.51 minutes it takes to see and hear it.
Granted, some peaceful Muslims are speaking up. And a few brave ones are reporting the bad ones at great risk to themselves. But Gabriel's point is a good one.
If the peaceful have the numbers on their side, they really do need to step up, take responsibility, and help put a stop to Islamic terrorism instead of claiming to be victims of discrimination.
