Obama wouldn't mind it so much if Republicans replaced Obamacare so long as they kept the name Obamacare.
Obama almost hints at that in President Obama Says 'Obamacare' Will Survive Beyond His Presidency. Excerpt:
"It may be called something else. And as I said, I don't mind. If in fact the Republicans make some modifications, some of which I may have been seeking previously, but they wouldn't cooperate because they didn't want to -- make the system work, and relabel it as Trumpcare, I'm fine with that," he said in an exclusive interview on “This Week” Sunday.
Don't believe it. He's trying too hard to feign insouciance. He has demonstrated such a great degree of narcissism that it isn't conceivable that he would be fine with it.
Meanwhile, as to the suggestion that Republicans wouldn't cooperate with him before, that's hogwash. Back before Obamacare became the law of the land several Republicans put forth better plans for reforming healthcare insurance. I took on the unrealistic task of summarizing those competing plans on this blog. But I got burned out after just two. I felt bad about not completing the task, but it wouldn't have made any difference as Democrats rammed Obamacare down our throats in spite of offers for improvement.
Now it's Democrats' turn to cooperate. They will, won't they? Hmm, maybe not, especially in the face of this: Obama urges Dems to fight GOP on ObamaCare.
