Architects striving to design a unique building have more to worry about than whether it might fall down. Here's a case in point, the Walkie Talkie skyscraper in London. It must have looked fantastic on the drawing board. But once constructed, the concave glass walls focused sunlight onto the street. It might have been nice for pedestrians in the dead of winter. But pity the vehicle owners who left their cars parked in the glare too long. The concave shape concentrated the sunlight which was hot enough to melt plastic parts of the cars. Ouch!
