According to Washingtonexaminer.com, the Republicans' tax plan will put IRS funding at 2008 level. GOP freezes IRS funding in 2017 spending plan. The IRS still hasn't satisfied its obligation to the people for its partisan treatment of conservative groups back when they seemed to be doing everything they could to thwart the fledgling tea party groups.
And when faced with budget cuts the agency typically threatens that it will cut service to citizens first. So it was nice to read this:
A summary of the bill provided by the House Appropriations Committee said the frozen spending level will still provide "sufficient resources to perform its core duties."
For example, it said $2.1 billion would be provided for taxpayer services, the same as fiscal year 2016.
But the committee made it clear that there are still problems at the IRS, and that it would be a mistake to boost spending by the agency.
It's a start. But the IRS has a long way to go to make amends.
I have read so many posts on the topic of the blogger lovers but this piece of writing is really a nice piece of writing, keep it up.
