Oh, Kaepernick is not disloyal, he's simply dissenting. That's according to the executive director of the ACLU of Southern California who bestowed an award on Kaepernick.
You could have fooled me. Kaepernick seems more favorable to the Cuban style of government than what the U.S. has to offer. And any Cuban dissenters are more likely found in the prisons than on the playing fields.
Let's not forget that he was recently named GQ’s Citizen of the Year. And note this: a couple of high school cheerleaders are following his lead as they take a knee during the national anthem. Sadly, they were inspired by their teachers.
What is remarkable, and ironic to most of us, is that he probably has more fans now than when he played football. It's disheartening, too, as we are seeing a sea change in attitude toward the things this country stands for. The path, this road to serfdom, down which they are trying to lead us cannot have a happy end.
