Phishing attempts should be easy to dodge yet they are the most common means of attack

Lisa Vaas at NakedSecurity: Phishing is still the most commonly used attack on organizations, survey says. According to Ms. Vaas, survey respondents reported this:

These are the most common outsider attack vectors that lead to cybersecurity breaches:

1. Phishing – 53%
2. Malware – 50%
3. Spyware – 45%

The total exceeds 100, so there has to be some overlap. In any event, it would seem to be easy to avoid phishing attacks. Nonetheless, plenty of people must fall for them. So the phishers must be pretty good at deceiving their victims.
