Mark Riddell was the guy hired by William "Rick" Singer to take college entrance exams for the rich parents who were willing to pay big bucks to get their kid into a prestigious school. Riddell was so smart he was able to get just about any score he thought might be plausible for the kid.
But get this. Riddell was only paid around $10,000 per test. Meanwhile, the ringleader, Singer, charged the parents "anywhere between $200,000 and $6.5 million for this service."
Talk about income inequality! But while this might appear on its face to be unfair to Riddell, it helps to remember who actually brought the buyer and seller together. Riddell just wasn't a very good negotiator. Oh yeah, it might also help to remember that everyone involved in the scam was scum.
