The other day we talked about electric vehicles and government subsidies. Now here's something new about EVs I learned. It's widely known that electric cars have remarkable acceleration, as long as they've got power. And now there's a Formula-E racing circuit featuring electric race cars. The obvious question is how they kept the EV powered. Well, the pit stops involve either a vehicle swap or battery change.
They put out an interesting video of a Cheetah racing one of those electric race cars. Here's a link to the two minute Youtube video. Spoiler alert: the distance decided the winner.
The enterprise is an effort to promote electric vehicles. So of course there's plenty of wordage in the related documentary video about global warming.
Addendum: This stunt was possibly inspired by Kenneth Cecil Gandar-Dower's efforts to promote the sport of racing cheetahs and greyhounds in the 1930s.
