This seems like a pretty shrewd move on Bernie's part, but it's not likely to get much traction.
He is credited with authorship of an article titled Trump Is the Worst Kind of Socialist in which he details some of the corporate welfare that he's calling corporate socialism.
Both Republicans and Democrats pay lip service to opposition to corporate welfare, and it's debatable which party is the worst offender. It all depends on which groups one thinks should get government handouts. Ideally, the government would stop trying to pick winners and losers and let the free market decide.
Nonetheless, Sanders has hit on a subject that should resonate. But it won't. Voters have been opposed to corporate welfare for years, but it never seems to matter.
By the way, maybe Sander has provided a clue as to what Democratic Socialism is. It's the same as corporate welfare, but with different special interest groups on the receiving side of the equation.
