Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez can get headlines anytime she wants. Problem is, it's usually because she said something that shows how uninformed she is.
People today have access to more information than any previous generation. They have the capability to be more informed than any previous generation. Yet by almost all accounts those in her age group are woefully uninformed about history, economics, and the way the world works outside social media.
So here we have AOC making this claim:
“I think young people are more informed and dynamic than their predecessors. I think that they are more sensitive in a positive way in that they actually care about other people’s experiences and lives,” she said, praising what she calls the younger generation’s “radical acceptance.”
Sigh.
A couple of famous quotes come to mind. First, Joe Biden: "We value truth over facts." Yep. Make your own truth, call it true, and it becomes true.
Second, Ronald Reagan: "The trouble with our Liberal friends is not that they're ignorant; it's just that they know so much that isn't so." AOC is constant reminder of that.
